Andy Pettitte spurns retirement, joins Yankees
In a surprising move the Yankees have signed Andy Pettitte to a one year $2.5 million deal. Pettitte, who had been a guest instructor for the Yankees this spring was evidently tempted by the competition and is reportedly in great shape. The Yankees rotation battle just got a lot more interesting, as they now have seven arms for a five-spot rotation. In Pettitte’s last season as a Yankee he went 11-3 in 21 starts with a 3.28 ERA.
